Every week, Woolworths Food, supplies groceries and gardening supplies to Sir Alfred Health and Elderly Care at their Klipfontein View Offices, to give to the elderly in their care.
Vacancies | Fundraising Managers (x9)
Sir Alfred Health & Elderly Care, a registered NPO/PBO is looking for nine fundraising managers to fundraise for projects, programmes and organizational administration, on a commission basis.
The day-to-day
- Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies
- Build relationships with major donors or companies and make presentations
- Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database
- Manage their own budget and ensure that targets are met
- Account handling: ensuring major donors or companies are happy with their donation scheme (such as a charity of the year partnership) and are kept informed of progress and milestones
- Devise and organise fundraising campaigns, events and door to door collections
- Spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of the organisation’s work
Key Skills and Competencies (Most Suitable Candidates)
- Those that understand networking and passive income generation.
- Fundraising managers need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- They need to be good at researching and devising strategies and opportunistically taking advantage of donation possibilities.
- Fundraising managers must be adept at people management, building long-term relationships with potential donors or volunteers and persuasively explaining their charity’s cause.
- The ability to manage budgets and hit fundraising targets are important, as are organisational and IT skills.
- An interest in, and commitment to, the cause you are raising money for is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- A first degree is desirable, but knowledge and experience in a specialized area is an added advantage as SAHEC is looking for those that can hit their targets.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in fundraising is often required for a fundraising manager, but prior experience in areas such as sales or marketing can act as a substitute. For legacy fundraisers, experience in law or accountancy helps.
- Knowledge of the charity sector and the particular cause area you are aiming to work in, is essential. If you don’t already have voluntary sector experience, consider volunteering.
Remuneration
This is strictly commission based, with good rates, suitable for those that understand networking and passive income generation.

House Refurbishments Project
We desire our members live in comfort in their homes, and as elders they are not as active as they would desire, to maintain their homes, interior and exterior, hence quarterly we purposed to refurbish one home for our members; a project constantly requiring partners.

Monthly Nutrition Basket
Every month we give our elderly members groceries for their welfare, and we partner with willing and kind individuals, institutions, and retailers in order to meet our budget.

Sun City Excursion | Sponsor a Beneficiary

In summer we are going for an excursion to Sun City Resort to see "The Valley of Waves" in Rustenburg, South Africa, and you can sponsor an elderly beneficiary for this trip.

40 Seater Bus Project
We are fundraising for a 40 Seater Bus to ferry our elderly members as we execute our activities everyday of the week. Transport is a problem for our members, hence, picking them up and dropping them home is most convenient.

The Retirement Centre
Sir. Alfred Health & Elderly Care has an ultimate goal of building a retirement centre for its members. The centre will have many relevant facilities for members and their guests, such as Nurses station, Doctor's Sessional Room, Sick Bay, Day Care, Reception area, Residential, Library, Mini Cinema, Dinning Area, Common Rooms, and a Chapel.

Through our prgrammes, activities, and events, the following are the objectives we strive to execute;
- To establish a well-constructed, well managed, community participated and safe Old Aged facility at a suitable place.
- To ensure adequate nourishment and clothes for the targeted, the poor helpless and destitute old Aged person.
- To ensure access to instant and quality health care for the poor helpless and destitute old Aged persons so that they can get awareness on health and hygienic issues.
- To create an effective old aged friendly learning environment for the poor helpless and destitute old aged persons within the Old Aged facility, so that they can live peacefully as their own home.
- To provide old aged persons access to fellowship activities, recreational facilities, mental support, social affairs and spiritual formation.
- To promote resource generating activities for financial sustainability of the old aged facility beyond donor funding.
